Introduction
 World class deposits like Neves-Corvo (Cu, Sn, Zn Ag) and Panasqueira (W) and a well
known potential for precious metals, mined since ancient times makes Portugal an
attractive target for exploration. Institutional stability, mineral rights regulation that
assures mineral property for exploitation, good infrastructure, incentives to
investment,
cheap qualified work for European standards are several other reasons which create a good
climate for mining investment.
Besides this the country is developing an ambitious modernisation program aimed to
enhance natural conditions for foreign investment and industrial activity.
This publication intends just to present a short approach to the mineral potential of
