The Geological Museum was founded in 1857. It was the
first Museum
dedicated to
geology and archaeology in Portugal, and it's situated in an ancient
convent in one of the most
typical quarters of Lisbon: Bairro Alto.
With more than a century of history, this Museum has become
a reference in Portuguese Geology and exhibits a
remarkable collection of paleontological and archaeological
objects, minerals
and rocks.
The Museum is open from
Tuesday to Saturday, from 10h00 to 17h00.
